HDC-LOGOIn 1984, the Hollywood Diagnosticss Center was founded with the ambitious goal of providing every medical Diagnostics service available in an efficient, caring and professional manner. Over the years, the company has experienced tremendous growth, serving thousands of patients with outstanding service in the South Florida area.

Hollywood Diagnosticss Center offers many services. Two of our most used Diagnostics services are CT Scans and echocardiograms. Here is some good information on those services.

We Offer CT Scans

A Computed Tomography (CT or CAT scan) is a Diagnostics test used to create detailed images of internal organs, bones, soft tissues and blood vessels. It generates cross-sectional images which can then be viewed by a radiologist for interpretation. CT is one of the best methods for detecting many types of cancers since the images allow your healthcare provider to confirm the presence of a tumor and to determine its size and location.
CT is often used in emergency situations since it can reveal internal injuries and bleeding quickly. It is fast, painless, and noninvasive. During a CT scan, different body parts absorb x-rays in varying degrees which makes it possible to distinguish them on an electronic image. Sometimes contrast material, also known as dye, may be necessary.

A CT examination is usually completed in 30 minutes. After the study is done, a board-certified radiologist will review and interpret the results. These results will be then be faxed to your healthcare provider who will then review them with you.

We Offer Echocardiograms

An echocardiogram is an ultrasound of the heart. This type of imaging enables your healthcare provider to examine your heart valves, determine the size of your heart, and assess how well it is functioning. An echocardiogram can estimate how forcefully your heart is pumping blood and can detect areas of the heart wall that have been injured by a previous heart attack or some other cause.

Once all of the imaging sequences have been completed, a Board Certified Radiologist will review the images and provide written results to your referring provider, usually within 72 hours. A digital copy of the MRI study can be provided to your health care provider at no cost. Your referring provider will then review the results and a plan for treatment with you.
